How often do you evaluate your training expectations?

Your training expectations should always be evaluated.

You need to regularly check in, and ask yourself the following simple questions.

Why do I train?

What am I aiming to achieve out of my current training program?

How can I create harmony between my training and current lifestyle?

A lot of people are guilty of placing high training expectations without assessing their current lifestyle situation and physical condition.

This doesn't usually happen with beginners who are starting out, as they are happy to take each day as it comes.

But I see this happening more often with experienced clients and athletes who are used to going full steam ahead all the time.

Having high expectations all the time, can ruin your state of mind and lead to bad performance.

We have to accept and adapt to the changes and challenges that we are faced with on a regular basis. Such as minor or major injuries, starting a new job, a busy period at work, family commitments or the birth of a new child.

You need to set realistic goals around the amount of time you have to train and what your body allows you to do.

Your training expectations need to be in line with your current physical and mental state of mind.

You will gain more satisfaction out of your training by placing the right expectations on yourself.

Don’t forget to regularly check in with yourself and your coach to make every month feels like a successful one! :)
